Um, hey guys, I really need your help. I installed this mod and did all instructions said, whenever I push ''New Game'' in menu, it crashes.

3 possible reasons as most of the files in the install VC have to be replaced.

folders Data, Models, Txds. Mss have to be replaced totally.

1. Your using winrar to extract the 7zip file, use 7zip instead
2. Some files in VC are still read only, you have to remove read only from all the files first
3. Try running the Dev console first, then delete the GTAVC.exe, just run the GTA-SOL.exe instead.

No sir, doesn't work, did all what you suggested, now when I star ''gta-sol.exe'' game doesnt even start.

Yeah. Me too. It loads everything else fine. I've done all of the above out of curiosity to see if it would work, nothing.

It gets about a tiny fraction loaded, and then just freezes, my mouse comes back up and I'm like "Well, fail."

Help? =)

Ok, there are many reason why the mod can fail;

1. Your using an illegal download of vc.
2. The exe installer isnt replacing all the files.

Try this, Install VC again, and delete everything but the gta-vc.exe, The Audio and Anims folders.

Unpack the mod in the folder.

Or you can do it the other way around, Unpack the mod into an emtpy folder, then Copy the Audio, Anims Folder and Exe into there.

Ive followed the readme instructions, using the dugout original cd to install first
still having this error

1. installed VC from orig cds
2. run VC setting; HUD=no, display 800x600 32bit. Started new game.
3. Cleared read-only attributes
4. installed SOL (double clicked exe)
5. installed SOL update (double clicked exe)
6. Ran gtasol.exe. Started "new game" .. crash
7. Ran "gtasol.exe" again .. crash

Also i've tried steps 4 & 5 using 7-zip
Next i tried your advice to just copy over Anims & Audio folder

After every attempt and 1hr 30mins of mucking about SOL crashes on the loading screen almost instantly

edit: also i get this error on install
edit 2: i forgot to mention i also tried running "DevConsole.exe" but nothing happens although its running in taskmanager

I am going to try and release another version soon, this will be packed with winrar.
Did you download this from GTA Garage?

The only problem here is we have massive files to download.

You can also unpack the mod in its own folder.

Where it says choose folder, make a new folder and extract there, I need to know how much space it is taking up on the HD.

Once you have SOL in its own folder, copy your Anims and Audio folder into your SOL folder.

Run the exe.

copied "gtasol.exe" and renamed to "gta-vc.exe"
set "devconsole.exe" to win98 compatibility
disabled network connection
exited from "Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0" (renamed folder to temp name also)
ran "devconsole.exe" clicked "options" > "run GTA-VC"

Had the same problem. Now solved.
But the game crashes when I change resolution.

Find where the original settings for Vice City in your C:\Users\Account? and replace these with the users settings found in the Users folder of the mod.
