Please post only the GTASOL.exe errors in this thread with your machine specs.

Things to remember before you post and I recommend you have the following;

1. Running Windows Win2k/SP4 - XP/SP2 with lastest upgrades.
2. Latest version of Direct X
3. P4/AMD 1.9 Ghz or better.
4. ATI/GForce 256Mb or better.
5. 1028Mb of Ram.
6. 4.5Gigs of Harddrive space.
7. Have both original VC game disks, and own the original LC and SA disks.
8. I do not help those with warez copies of the game, Please don't post here.

When you post, I would like the following info;

Example;
I have a Compaq Laptop (v2002). (Brand and Model)

CPU;                             2-GHz AMD Turion 64 ML-37
Operating System;    Windows XP Home Edition
RAM;                        1GB   (900Mhz)
Hard Drive;                   120GB
Display/Resolution    14-inch/WXGA (1280x768) 32Bit
Graphics/Video Memory   ATI Radeon Xpress 200M/256MB (shared)
MotherBoard Bus:          Compaq (1200Mhz)

Gameplay Res; 800x600 32Bit

You can find your Machine specs by either going to Control Panel -> System, or using google by typing in the machine brand and model number;

If you not sure about your specs; download this Info tool.

A detailed error is better than just saying the mod doesn't work, like some have done in some of my project threads, the more info the better (An exception error if possible?);

Example;
Running the gta-sol.exe, loads the Menu screen, but hangs 3 seconds just after pressing start game.

Looking at the picture below you will see the pink loading bar frozen, this can help me track down the possible error, and in most cases the user installing the mod hasn't copied their Audio folder into the Vice City folder or has not ran the right game exe, (GTA_SOL.exe)

Using Delfi's Developer Console you will beable to report back to me the last object loaded when the game crashed, (ap_roadsect1)

If you feel that the GTA-SOL.exe does not work for you, you could always patch your own exe (gta_vc.exe).

Important note; If your not going to run the GTA-SOL.exe, You MUST copy and rename the GTASOL.DAT file, Replacing the old GTA_VC.DAT file, this can be found in your GTA:/DATA/ folder.

Note; If you see buggered up textures; It's best to update your GTA_VC.exe to 1.1, only if you don't have that version already, download this patch. vicepatch_11.zip

Download Andy's Limit Adjuster 2

The image above is for those who want to patch their own EXE, using Andy's LA2 using the settings shown above.

Final tips;

When posting pictures, try and resize the image down to (640x480), but it's best to post thumb nails instead (Hotlink for forums), using sites like Imageshack., you can also help by using a map cords tool that can be downloaded from here. (Steve M's Website)

Happy bug hunting.

Edit; Andy Writes.

Beta 6 of the Limit Adjuster has support for the nodal limits in VC Limit Adjuster 1.0 that have to be changed in order to avoid game crashes. It also has a draw distance hack that should allow for the deletion of most or all LOD files, especially the ones in SA that cause game crashes (and it will make the game look better anyway or at least more seamless).

I will hack the path entry limit for Beta 7 but keep in mind that it might still limit you to 32767 or 65535 unless I get in there at a really deep level and try to redefine structures. I tried that with the ID objects and it didn't lead anywhere (although with the advanced C concepts I have started to pick up this quarter in cpe 357 that could very well change to some extent).

EDIT: forgot to post a link - its the same one it was for beta 5

Limit Adjuster 2.0 Beta 6

Edit; X-Seti Writes.

New settings Wink

Please note;
If your not going to run the GTA-SOL.exe, You MUST copy and rename the GTASOL.DAT file, Replacing the old GTA_VC.DAT file, this can be found in your GTA:/DATA/ folder.

It helps not being a smart arse.

It depends, For some it only works if you have the gtavc.exe in the same folder, and why it does this is anyone guess.

What might work for one computer setup isnt working for the next, and this is a known problem.
